The Old Laughing Lady is a beautiful line rising out of Mazinaw Lake, just to the right of the Old Walt Memorial. The climb is more than a half rope length tall, so two ropes are required for descent or you could walk down and around to climbers right (~45 min if you find the summer trail...) All ice formation will be encountered on the climb - chandeliers, mushrooms, cauliflower, snice, slabs, columns...
Access to the climb is best gained from the park(an hour north of Napanee). The gate is usually closed in winter, so a quick ski, following signs for the "summer ferry/tour boat" is required. Once you've found the lagoon, continue northwards, through the Narrows (be mindful of thin ice and open water) gets you to the climb.
Season: It's best to wait until the lake has frozen (usually by mid-January).
Gear: A std ice rack will usually suffice (all screw lengths are useful).
